I have followed Diana’s blog Real Healthy Recipes for about a year now, but I only recently became serious about going wheat-free and possibly grain free.  The hardest thing about this (for me) is figuring what to eat to replace my favorite comfort foods.  This book really fills that need.  I devoured the book and marked several recipes to try and the ones that I have tried turned out fantastic and taste great – all without using grains!  The ingredients needed are easy to find and the cooking techniques are not crazy or hard to follow.  I just finished making the Crispy Orange Chicken (p. 108) and I serviced with with Cauliflower Rice (p. 122) and it was hit with my family.  There are so many others that I could mention, but I guess I will just say that if you want to cook “comfort foods” that are grain free then you have to get a copy of this cookbook!  On a side note, these recipes are also dairy, soy, gluten and cane sugar free.

    If you are interested in changing your lifestyle and incorporated heart-healthy principals into your life, than you will want to get a copy of this book.  It is full of practical advice covering not only diet and exercise, but also lifestyle issues such as stress.  It including heart-healthy recipes that actually taste good as well.  You don’t need to have had a heart attack or have heart disease to benefit from this book.  It is full of prevention tips and the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle. I found it a very beneficial read.

      This really is a must read book. It started me on my way to healing. I was not feeling well for over a year, had digestive and allergy-type issues. Doctors just ordered nose sprays and helped me not at all. The digestive issues plagued me for years. I gave this a try and am hugely grateful! My digestion is over 100% better! This book  set me on the right path and gave me inspiration to eat in a way that heals.

      Though it was chocked full of information, the book was presented well so you didn’t get overwhelmed.  The author did a wonderful job explaining the hows and whys and giving you the resources to succeed.  If you are looking to change your diet so you will feel better, than this book is for you!

        While I am not an expert in the garden by any means, I do love my summer planting and was thrilled with this book!  I plant tomatoes every year with varying degrees of success.  And I’m not alone. Tomatoes are America’s favorite fruit, and the one most likely to be in a home garden. However, disease, pests, soil issues, and watering errors often nip our homegrown harvest in the bud. This book details how to pick the right variety, start from seed, plant, stake, cage, deal with pests and disease, practice “basic keeping-alive skills” and harvest the bounty.  It is full of pictures so you can see how the plants are supposed to look and it is written to the novice, so it is easy to understand and follow instructions.  I highly recommend it!

          This cookbook proves you can eat healthy and still enjoy delicious flavor! Staying in shape while eating all the great Latin dishes I grew up with is not easy, but the recipes in this book pack all the delicious flavors without the whopping calorie counts  making eating healthy taste great! The book is packed with great recipes, beautiful photos and lots of fun tips that keep you turning the page.  I enjoyed the introduction to new ingredients and spices and found the book very inspirational in the kitchen.  The recipes are very easy to follow, even for people who have not cooked Latin dishes before.

              I am a firm believer that lifestyle choices affect our health, the aging process, and our quality of life.  While I don’t believe the can be found in fancy face creams or plastic surgery, I do feel that the answer lies deep within your body, on the cellular level, where every day, free radicals are being released into your system. Free radicals appear to be one of the major causes of the effects of aging on the body.                     I love the Paleo lifestyle and have a ton of cookbooks.  But I also know that the Mediterranean Diet is proven to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke as well as help you lose weight, stay fit, and feel great as well.  Recent studies show that this eating style can reduce the risk of developing Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, and depression, and that it can even increase fertility rates!This cookbook marries the two lifestyles!  You will learn how to prepare the most mouthwatering Mediterranean food without abandoning your commitment to Paleo, including how to make the necessary substitutions to ensure that the meals are as strictly Paleo.

                    The photography is very well done and the recipes are absolutely delicious. There is something for everyone’s taste.
